Mosquitos in October?

Post by Doreen Peri » October 19th, 2005, 4:40 pm

I'm sitting in my office with the door wide open because it's a beautiful day. Unfortunately, I don't have a screen door.

I'm getting eaten alive by a mosquito!

geezzzzzz.... Isn't it awfully late in the season for mosquitos?

All the skeeters around here drowned-this is a tough place for them...rains a tad bit more than they care for-plus even when it's not raining the ocean breeze jest blows them away...

Three years and two months ago, LR came to "visit" me using a one-way Greyhound Bus ticket.

One of the first things we did, something like a week or two after his arrival, was go up to NYC and do a performance at the Bowery Poetry Club with the litkicks gang. It was great! That's when we first met Levi and his two girls, Ronnie (Yabyum), Billectric, Rusalke, and several others.

I recited this poem that night on stage...

Guess Who I Slept With Last Night!

I bet you'll never guess, my friends, who I slept with last night!
Beneath the sheets, he joined me there, and caused me to ignite!
He showed up unexpectedly, completely incognito!
He made me itch, and called me sweet, then whispered, "Muy bonito!"

Yes, just my luck, his Spanish accent made me shriek completely!
He stung me once, he stung me twice, then ten times, so discreetly!
Oh God! He even wakened me to eat me up, and bring me
His succulent attack, as I could feel his stinger sting me!

Oh what a night, with ev'ry bite, I thought he'd drive me crazy!
Without a stitch, he caused my itch, the moonlit night so hazy....
And in the dark I laid with him, there was no way to veto
The way he sucked my skin, my thighs, my neck, that damned MOSQUITO!

cute....i like how it relates in two ways to the post, 1. about us wanting to meet and 2. about mosquitos...cool, perfect response in my personal opinion.
