Light snow has dusted the ground
In some patches a half inch is found,
I would convert to centimeters,
But I drank too many coffee liters,
Must pause for station identification--
***
As I float up near the ceiling,
Head is reeling,
Have to get a haircut--
Chapped hands are peeling,
(My take on beautifying
Human landscape of America),
First step out to scrape off
Snow for automobiling...
Bone chilling cold at half past eight,
Happy New Year, Studio Eight!

Time of the dance
The frug....the twist....Watusi...the jerk, swim, mash potatoes
GW Bush spelling??? By this apple mochine
My spelling will rule in the end
Oh by the way we sure danced in dem daze
Teen club and parties
Sweating and strutting
Just had to jump on in
Good times
Kinda like jamming
Just a little more contact
Loved the slow ones
Soul music and the Beatles & Kinks
Their music side by side
These days me b jammin at the bar
Drinking coffee, waiting for the night
to come
A chance for to dance
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

Let's all celebrate our friends here
on planet studio eight :D
always a jam here somewhere
can't make it without that

Music got to have that
soul food
but I
Never could dance
never could let go
feel the beat
with people around
spooky autistic
:| see turtles and twizzles sticks for dirty details below

if I was you I would not even go there.

I go my Buddha, and Jesus too
and Allah sings my blues
and I am a thing called alive

The dead know nothing
and I think I know a lot
I am an old fucking fool

I got karma to burn
when it comes to the fair sex
this is either my first trip or my last as a male

another dance
a chance
could be
not in this life time body

But if I ever do come back as a human again in another life time of booty :?
I hope it is as an old woman
so old the men pay her no mind

friends gone but not forgotten
but still kickin I hope
hester and jimbo
><><><><><><><><><>>><><><><><>after thoughts after first-thoughts

is there a writer's market for drug induced erotic bad trips anymore maybe I will cash in on my karma.

what is that about the watcher at the gate, love's sweet mystery
:|
warning RE: dirty dancing content rated pg-70
turtles and twizzle sticks
from here on down from too many edits cuts and pastes
first thoughts on second thoughts

can't even let go with sex no more these past thirty four years
a portrait of guilt
magician of Lublin and I.B.SInger got nothing on me
but it kept me out of the draft

even when I tried to enlist after the Gulf of Tonkin
when I wanted to go and do my patriotic chores
settle some scores
just like after pearl harbor
or 9/11
I suppose crazy has its blessings
thank god there are enough brave soldiers
to go to war
or we could all be speaking German
Belgium had it coming in 1914
Been a long time these past hundred years
we are way past due for another decent war.
Another world war
I wonder what a billion dead bodies would look like
Technology marches on

I am sorry I cant rant but I be cool with my karma
Quakers a life changer for me

no reason to bitch
just chillin and killin time
no reason to bitch about war
I suppose
it is only human
If you can't give me love and peace, Then give me bitter fame. — Akhmatova.

The uncontrollable
Unknowables that elude
My break-a-day
Yet the sun is shining
But oh baby! It's cold outside
Today
I realized something had changed
This b airplane not starship
Soul ripped outta American dream
Somewhere on that journey thru the 70's
Got real slick in the 80's
Lost it totally in the 90's
And all but blew it away in the 2000's
Which are all the same
Thank god for all these cyber devices
Without which we couldn't stand the strain
Crackling out there in the distance
It's all them miles that been torn apart
Throw a dart into the night
You'd do just as good as to try
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

Somewhere on that journey thru the 70's
Got real slick in the 80's
miss those time capsule short films at the Broadway Theatre in the forties.
Sixties, somewhere on the journey thru the 50's for me
Carter, my feminist girl friend on Capital Hill used to have a bumper sticker that read. A>B>C> anybody but Carter.

if mingo don't mind, I search studio eight for "Verdun" and this one always pops out for me. Can't make it with out the creative boards here.
I hardly miss lickchicks/litchicks/kicks anymore.
i got a situation

Unread postby the mingo » Wed Jul 06, 2011 1:33 am

people got situations all over the place
tonight I got a situation
tonight I'm writing with
lee harvey oswald's gun
the stars don't shine tonight
and the moon goes for shelter
because lee harvey oswald's gun wipes out
what would have been & makes widows
of wives in less time than it takes
to say it
lee harvey oswald's gun turns pink to red
gives birth to talk & talk & talk
lee harvey oswald's gun killed every boy
in vietnam
killed bobby
killed king
made nixon president
woke up the arabians & the persians
brought a peanut farmer to the white house
followed by an actor
... and i'm not going to go the way of ginsberg's opus
word after word
page after page
because lee harvey oswald's gun
was made for hunting
and meant to kill millions
the quick way
by blowing open their skulls
so their brains escape all over the backseat
lee harvey oswald's gun gave birth
in less than five seconds
to a new world
a world that is now 48 years old
and counting
seems longer tonight
maybe because I've got a situation
and I'm writing with lee harvey oswald's gun
the one that kills us all at the opening
of the new frontier

Thin ice in the shadows. Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

Wanting the jam
To blow up & out
Take over like the Blob
Come right thru the screen
into ur world with the Word
Mellow night
Waiting for the word bombs
to burst in air
Come on in
The waters fine :D

Cold ensues
Mouse in house
5 degrees at midnight
Slick outside
Slip after dinner
Retreat to warmth
Jam words
Jam pages
How long we got this time
Jam lives always
Perpetually in fact
Could be more instantaneous
But that would b asking a lot
Mind visions baltimore
Jammin back 04-05
Jammin hot
Jam sizzling
Lean and sticky
New
Exciting
Now it's matured
Found a level
But it's there
It's own phenomenon
Waiting for one and all
Join on in
Sink or swim
I remember how hard it was
way back when
Now it's second nature
On an iPad
None the less
Touch screen
Fast enuff for me
Jam on into 2014
Can't think of a thing finer
Cept maybe the beach in Carolina
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

beaches of north carolina
seen pirates & big storms
british sailors & colonial smugglers
scots & irish heading for the mountains
heard the songs of slaves
& word preachers
men in deerskin -
roanoke
croatan
beyond the beach unending forest
all the way to the mississippi
copperheads & rattlesnakes
puma & bobcat
coyote
and in the earlier days the timber wolf
& cherokee
carrying the jam into the mountains
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

Lost colonies
Shipwrecks
Kitty Hawk
Wright bros.
Constant wind
Waves of blue
I remember smelling
the salt air on 1st approaching
1975
Rolling down them country roads
in my dodge van
Harmonica wailing
Welding equipment packed in
Freedom
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

" all the children played together "

Elizabeth Allen - age 82 - from Women of These Hills

damn cold up here, man
10 degrees beneath zero @ dawn
whhhoooeee for the last three nights
battery in the ol' jeep weak anyway
have to go out & start it twice a night
just so the woman can get to work in the morning
i'd rather be in north carolina
lost colonies and all
listening to folks older than me
tell me what it was
to grow up in appalachia
& i'd trade 'em tales of mongolia
tell 'em ya got youtube
you can go anywhere
and to any time
ya want
pick up a handful of dust
from the old cemeteries up on the ridges
fling it out on the wind
let the wind take all these words
on down into the valley
down into the valley
great grandmother - you put three husbands in the earth
one of them a scotsman
some of his seed is with me
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

Mountain hopping
Scotsman
Irishman
Canuck
Swede
Be me
Mutt of American soil
Yet the first Coburn came to Massachusetts
In 1635
Looking to farm on the Merrimack
Close to where St. Jack used to play
Musta been some sight all that wilderness
Water clean, game plentiful
Climate of 4 seasons
The one were in now a bear
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

sleeping with the monsters I awake to the dawns early light
the good life of a man child to be born in the oh can you see
I got my poetic license when I was just turning sixty-years old
the day I stumbled on litkicks
a life changer every ten years or so, before that it was the Quakers before that
it was an ex marine with a cheap Italian rifle in Dallas Texas, 1962
Lenny Bruce and Jackie O

I just want a girl like the girl that married uncle john's band
oh well, I await the great cull
when the monsters awake
till then let the good times roll
I am the jack of nightmares
a precious gift from the first tilles that came over just in time to fight Mr. Wilson's war.

born an American
by grace of god a southern Jew
life was good in old Dixie when even a Jew could own a slave
how Biblical just like the land

when it comes to American religions and culture
"chastity is the skepticism of the intellect" or something like that, to parphrase
George Santayana

2014 the year I became an old man
I look like I am ready for the cull
I need to put a before and after selfie here>
like my hair turned white over night
I can only pray I die before by brother

life is so precious to me
and so fragile in me
wake up
wake up
always another wake up call
till the end of my time to write
If you can't give me love and peace, Then give me bitter fame. — Akhmatova.

I guess it's better
to live in the past
than not to live at all.
I live in my bedroom.
It's sort of like a tomb.
But I'm having a ball!
I don't live in the past
but I wonder how long this
can possibly last.

I don't even get up
except to get a cup
of coffee.
I don't answer the phone.
I pretend no-one's home
so if that was you who called,
I'm sorry.
Hate to always be
the one who doesn't show
for the party.

That's a lousy rhyme." Sorry and party."
Hope 2014 is a good year for you and you do something arty.
