I'm first response?
shit!
all downhill from here
and isn't there something somewhere
about the first shall be last?
down the hole is down the hole, friends
jam hard, jam often, jam on!

Some "poor man's caviar" on
Pumpernickel rye
Feeling fly, so away I go
Down into ice caves
In ten feet of snow...
I'm late, i'm late,
Late for that important date...
Not ready yet to hibernate...

awaiting the new
anticipating deleting
old reviews,
debts no longer due
hoping that greeting
"Happy! Celebration"
proves true

I came across a delightful phrase in a poem, and so send it along to all those "who have trouble with belief" in whatever, whatever someone else would like them to believe in. The phrase is: "the will that will not will belief." Seasons greetings to you all from Downunder in the Antipodes.

here comes another one
just like the other one
welcome to the slippery slope
the land of diminishing returns
it's a bordertown -
a liminal state to be in
like checking in while you're checking out
let the years come and go
i'll wave bye-bye
and whistle while i disintegrate

Almost gone
Father time
Will come and claim
Another one of his own
Taking the old man
And replacing him
With the customary newborn
Filling the same fate
Of so many before
All that matters
Is what happens
In between
The two inevitable's

It was a helluva year.
Deer got hit. Roadkill,
damaged vehicles, bumpers
dumped on the side of the road.
Code wasn't rendering correctly.
Faucets eroded and heads
exploded like they were
target shot.
Wonder what the universe
has got in store for the next.
Typing with my thumbs.
Crumbs thrown down
to the peons.
Darn pigeons pokin' their beaks
trying to pick 'em up to eat 'em.

the universe is no better
than the microverse, both
claim to be infinite, but
somehow
one is bigger than the other
it's a matter of perception
like a spiraling manicotti
who knows which end is up

I believe
I will
have another

it was a very good year for me
my heart is beating still
I believe I will
have another one
these are the best of
the worst of
the good times
roll on
