what's up with that

Post by constantine » May 2nd, 2008, 6:06 pm

shall we peruse the old sorrow
the malingering self doubts,
recurring nightmares that refuse to dissipate
and hang steadily just beneath the horizon
your pretty smile may fool some
but we know better
you smoke a cigarette
you look at your watch
call a friend - hit a bar
hard as you can
no matter how warm you get
the cold northern wind will slap you in the face
once the door is open
try and get to the bottom of it
use your heralded rationale
that scalpel of a mind
set up a grid, a periodic table
of all possible elements
with overlays and transparencies
that catalog and delineate
take it back
take it way back
ten thousand years ago we were all cousins
we took baths together when we were kids
maybe went to the prom in babylon
how many times around the track
how much left to you in the will
you look suspiciously like your great grandfather
what's up with that

next time you return to babylon
try the zodaniun grill for their pizza -
it's not a pie... it's a cake.

Beat goes on, thumpa, thumpity. Maybe I'm a taller than my cousins were 10,000 years ago, at least. Nice one, Dino.
