she said not to do it

Post by constantine » September 22nd, 2008, 10:48 pm

she said not to do it
but i think she wanted me
to do it anyway, at least
that's how it seemed to me
and after it was over
it appeared that i had been right
although, if she was lying
which was how it appeared
at first, then perhaps
she was lying again,
i have to think this over,
i'll get back to you when it makes sense

don't!
stop!
don't!
stop!
don't stop!
don't stop!

your next line is:
it was great for me, how was it for you?

let me know the answer
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

It reminds me of a style I write sometimes. If I replaced the word she with the word he, I wouldn't be at all surprised if I found this in my own notes.

So... I gotta tell ya .... I like it! ;)

....
[edit]
i reread it again and maybe the topic is about sex? i got that idea after reading the replies on pib.... didn't think of it that way at all when i first read it. if that's the case, i'd probably be really surprised if i found this in my own notes. :) ... not that i've never had sex or anything.. but 'cause sex is something two people do together, not something one person does to another person ... to me anyway.. lol... so if that's the topic, i wouldn't have written it this way myself..... but i still like the style!.... gonna shuddup now

i saw it as a statement on gender relations and communication differences due to gender, but the poem has to speak for itself and can be taken in a sexual context as well - but even in the sexual context it still is a matter of gender communication. Thanks doreen.

act 2: Do
act 3: Done

it has always been the time for straight talk - but there are two different styles of straight talk - two different modes of communication - gender based. we must learn each other's language, so to speak. at any rate, as i said earlier - a poem stands on its own in respect to the reader.

She wanted you to do it but she wanted you to want to do it and she wanted to know you wanted to do it to her only for sure, before her ebbing conditioning completely waned and her physical senses kicked in and took over and then she had no choice but to do it and hope that it would mean something to you but if it didn't who fucking cares, and in the first place if you'd never asked her or yourself the question there never would have been a question about whether or not she wanted to do it.....?
