routine #26

i know a trick or two, ducky
some would call it seduction
i call it style and good taste
learned this one from omar sharif
no shit,
i call it routine #26
"i only have eyes for you"
check it out
i'm at a party or the laundromat
maybe a poetry reading
sitting between multiple females
talking in triplicate about
hegel and kant about
matisse and picasso about
poochie and puff-puff
i don't have to say a word
through gesture, eye contact, facial expression
i create the illusion
(now get this!)
of avidly listening, of actually
caring about whatever the hell
they have to say!
then
if i'm lucky
i'll get some

routine #26
a newly unearthed secret
bottled and sold in the finest studios
all previous routines pale in compare
what you can't see makes all the difference

he listens with his eyes
painting picassos
while puff puffing
to multiple ladies
in laundromats
just in case
he gets some
whatever the hell
that may mean
i've always wondered
what washing machines
have to say about all that

i am a participant observer. there's a little bit of routine#26 in me - but usually i'm pretty sincere.

what's this mickey mouse stuff supposed to mean?

who is this new mouse named "micky"...surely we have a copyright infringement with the real mickey mouse...leaving out one letter will
not suffice to appease the Disney Attorneys....even if this new micky mouse is only a fly on the wall .....and not a mouse at all......

about the poem....there is more here than teases the eye with the obvious explanation.....this poem to me, is open for many interpretations which marks your work, not just here, in a most positive fashion....

you have a way of allowing the reader his imagination.....nice work
