why hast thou forsaken me
is it my bandy legged gait
my tufty plumage
why kiwi why
do you treat me like you do
haven't i fed you
choice grubs
and segmented worms
when you needed solace
wasn't i there for you
yet you cast me out
into the zealand forest
and turned your beak downwards
as if you knew me not
diminutive, flightless
terrabird
you got a hell of a lot of nerve
