i want to be an artist
i want to give everything
everything i have
i want you to know my parents
my childhood, i want
to take you to the playground
and down the woods
i've got things inside me
just like you, we're no different
i've got to make you see that
i've got to see it myself
it isn't a game or hobby
it's deeper than that
it's complex
too much inside my head
53 cats are in my head
i see their faces sometimes
before i fall asleep
i can't stand my life
i want to be an artist

What I love most about cats is their amygdala and the fact that they handle rejection so well.

I remember those cats. She is an artist. She does beautiful work.

My sister Myself

When she was a kid she would tell me that she wished she had never been born. I was stunned. Many times I wished I was dead but I never thought to wish I had never been born.

I want to be a writer,
except that I already am.
This of course, I say
as I pen my writings
into the voidless nothingness
of eternity.

I want to see my work published,
except I already have.
This of course, I say
as my words stomp about quietly
in the abyss of cyberspace
ready to be googled into obscurity.

I want to work on my craft,
except I already am.
This of course, I say
as I work a job that kills my creativity
and live in a space
where my writer's block selfishly inhabits
on a permanent basis.

I want.
This is what keeps me going.
