city of women

i am but a poor greek boy
buffeted by the winds
and whims of the matriarchy
lost in the city of women
in the good old days
social relations were laissez-faire
biology was respected, hineys
thrust upward into the sky
inviting the thunderbolt
the penetrating wisdom of zeus
or a reasonable human facsimile
who shall go nameless
but now we have conventions
codified laws and what not
little games that people have to play
like personal space and physical sanctity
that serve only to frustrate and bewilder
not only my needs, but
my personal freedom of choice as well
still, even within these restraints
i continue to manage my affairs
in a reasonable though infrequent manner
and for that i should be commended
buffeted by the winds
and whims of the matriarchy
lost in the city of women
in the good old days
social relations were laissez-faire
biology was respected, hineys
thrust upward into the sky
inviting the thunderbolt
the penetrating wisdom of zeus
or a reasonable human facsimile
who shall go nameless
but now we have conventions
