worse than you let on
there is confession,
and then there is confession
what good is one without the other
there are things that i will never tell you
you'd look at me differently
you would have reservations
it would never be the same
so i think to myself, am i that despicable
i was young, things got out of hand,
a victim of some sort of generational glitch
a behavioral loop that feeds upon itself
with no outlet, no release
and nobody was watching
no signals or warnings,
no signs posted, just
do it, squelch it, forget about it
and then do it again
in variations, so twisted
so remarkably convoluted
that it seems like something different
when really, it's exactly the same
and, if you're lucky,
you won't even realize it
because realizing it
means absolutely nothing
it changes nothing
he's trickier than that
he'll kick in some freudian shit
symbolic actions that look
like one thing, but in all actuality
mean something quite different,
who wants to sort that deck
when jacks become queens
and hearts, spades
how can you make sense of it
how can you act like everything's ok
bummer wrapped in a downer

the one eyed jack winks at the joker
they hang out at a tavern called The Confession Booth
the priest is the bar tender and he serves a great bloody
mother Mary
there's another favorite called Psychoanalysis
another drink less popular called John Wayne is a Nazi
Micky Finnegan's Wake is the speciality
Anarchy is served like a host at the drunkard's mass
none of these drinks have alcohol in them
they are all some fruit juice that have been
held in the hands of the angel of death and beggars
she dresses as a nun with fishnet stockings
and also serves as the temple prostitute of for sinning
sinners that confess and profess as they are regressed
to past lives as magistrates and court poets to the crow king
when the poets arrive everybody gets down on their knees
and bends over and kiss the ground of being good by, then
they all put on their shades and nod to the statue of Freud
over the bar...the floor show is about to begin....

This particular segment I can relate to, at least, what I got from it I can. I love and understand the frustration of trying to fix misconceptions in society's eyes. It's a never-ending battle and a never-ending cliche.

That's absolutely fantastic. Now a lot of thought MUST have gone into that...revolutionrabbit wrote:the one eyed jack winks at the joker

communication would seem a simple thing when two people are speaking the same language, but therein lies the rub.....we haven't yet learned the language...which obviously is more than the words in the dictionary........engaging work, dino......poetry needn't be merely abstraction........
