don't know what i want
don't even know what i need
if i need it
i don't want it
it demeans with the desire
i like to call it asceticism
but i've aways been a crock
it's deeper than that - more complex
one of those existential deals
that frenchie used to talk about
between croissants and espresso

Frenchie?

Hollweg, do you really think so?
Maybe i'm just used to constantine's way, but 'frenchie' is a definite character, not an entire population.
i can see the small table in the cafe
endless discussions
or sometimes even endless sentences
all flicked into an ashtray with a cauloise

I read "that" as an adjective, not as introducing a subordinate clause. Perhaps I am mistaken.

Very nicely written.... I see her in the corner of the cafe, sun tracing her body, high-lighting her face ever so softly perched perfectly in front of the picturesque window.

The icons of Frankreich and Greece
are paned for a planet at peace
in windows, not doors,
in houses whose floors
are found on a rock we but lease.
