after a couple beers
the barmaid looked pretty good
i shifted into cary grant mode
urbane - glib
a regular mr. smoothie
sort of like mr. softee
only without the ice cream
she was blonde with brown ends
very artistic,
if her hair could write a poem
it would probably be edgy
avant-garde type shit
like they crank out in art school
in between fashion statements and ennui,
i was a nihilist at twenty
i lived art - i killed art
i redefined it, and then kicked its ass
then i shot dope artistically
went a step beyond, and a step beyond that
until i ended up at this poem
i hope you like it, thank you.

have to wonder about someone who
changes their hair color.. a little too restless?
ah, but they laid that one on me when i kept
moving my furniture around..

ah, full circle anyway..

it's pretty hard to write a bio in 6 short lines, but you did it......yea I'm not sure if I was a nihilist or really believed the world could be better, in any case, it didn't matter as long as there were enough drugs and music to stem the tide........I like the way the writer studies the barmaid, tries to imagine what she is like, consequently looking at himself at that age......

yes, I like it !.......I loved trying to imagine what was "between fashion
statements and ennui".....ha.......many good lines throughout

there is humor and seriousness woven together, two actors on the same stage.....good stuff
