i like women

Post by constantine » May 22nd, 2011, 6:37 pm

i'm used to living alone
but i'm not resigned to it
i like women - their company
the way way they look and act
the way they remind me of mom
sort of like a profane mom
a mom devoid of familial context
a secular mom, as opposed
to a theocratic or ecumenical mom,
being of working class background
i envision her as female production unit
that performs a sociological function
a gender-based complementarity
that enhances productivity
within social and economic institutions
that are but extensions of environmentally-
based behavior patterns in the first place!
the sex is just icing on the cake
the cake is the most important thing
without the cake, icing is unnecessary
mere frippery! an adornment
though it could be argued that with the cupcake
icing becomes the raison d'etre of the cake's existence
the cake is but a medium to convey the confection,
with the muffin, however
the issue is cleverly side-stepped

Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

i forgot to mention what a brilliant extended-metaphor-with-a-twist this poetic rumination presents...

thanks! the poem was improvisational - an extemporaneous monologue. i've been working like that a lot the last few years. ending them is the trickiest part. it's crazy - very unpredictable, the direction that it takes.

so true dino, without the cake, icing is unnecessary.....I can dig it.....there's a whole lot more than the sex, but the beer commercials don't speak to that, neither does the jeans commercials, or the chewing gum adds, etc. etc......advertising cheapens everything that is good, which is not to say this is a poem about advertising.......but how do we escape from it ?......sorry for the detour, I type as I think......this poem caused that, so it's your fault !......keep the improv coming...and I will let my mind wander.....enjoyed

education and due diligence is the cure for the infection of advertising
