pizza haggis

same old pizza got you down
a slice here - a slice there
until they all blend together
in the abysmal pit of your undiscerning belly
isn't it time you did something about it
isn't it time you demanded more
look, i used to be the same as you
scarfing down pizza willy-nilly
without a thought about tomorrow
not to mention yesterday
but i wised up and so can you
instead of stuffing pizza into my intestine
now, i stuff intestine into my pizza
i offer for your consideration:
the haggis pizza, cylindrical
pizza that is outside the box
because it doesn't fit in a box anyway
at least not a conventional box
with four corners and some goofy
italian buffone printed on the lid
personally, i find those pictures offensive
and i'm not even italian,
sure, some may say:
hey dino
you kind of look italian
isn't dino an italian name
are you sure your mother isn't italian
to which i reply:
hey! va fangoul!!
there are few things i'm sure about
but what i am sure about is pizza and haggis
it isn't much but at least it's something
so why not put my limited knowledge to work
in the hope i might make my mark
and leave something for posterity
hence, the haggis pizza
roll it up, stuff it in, and nobody is the wiser
you can carry it in your pocket
you can take it for a walk
you can take it up the ass for all i care
it's just an idea
i have no vested interest - no hidden agenda
i'm just looking for something
something better - different, more complex
you can do what you want
makes no difference to me whatsoever
i'm not mussolini - i don't say:
hey paisan! slice that pizza six ways instead of eight
no, not at all, i'm a libertarian
i simply don't give a fuck about anything
except for pizza, haggis, and
the pleasure of those who consume it
is that so bad?

maybe you can get a business loan for this...you could call it Papa Mc Dino's or something......but I will have to pass on carrying it in my pocket.....that's where I keep my folding money and my joints....

much of your poetry these days hints of shaking up the norm...that's a good thing

totally want some of that pizza now- here in the jungle- delivered- and well- italian bambinos i have- they like really gourmet food- hippie indians like me like rice- and thai food=salt water and sun makes you really hungry- and your pizza is interesting...
