the rain today
jamming the roof
thousands of rhythms
all at once
just try pickin a single thread
out of that
i tried but nada
each raindrop
makes its sound
i spread my arms open
in response -
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

Am I there yet? I forget.
Mongolia? Moscow? Rome?
If writing could take me there, I'd go,
but it looks like I'm staying at home.
I can't find the words to equal a trip.
I want to be cool. I'd love to be hip.
But traveling is out, it seems like to me.
Just how can I fly to the Mediterranean sea?
I can't even afford to a trip to the store.
Should I write less? Should I write more?
And I don't hear anybody knocking at the door.
I'm going nowhere fast. What a gas!
And no one's coming here. That's quite clear.
Oh well, I'll travel vicariously
so thanks for making room for me.

Are we there yet?
Sittin' here lisnin' to the
sounds of "Sinsemilla" dub,
Black Uhuru, cranked up, the
late summer blowing through
an open door, it's warm . . .

And shit, I didn't even know
there was a dub version, and
there is no tougher bass line,
and Michael Rose fades in
and out, and oh how I missed
this jam, hadn't played it
in forever, this jam..

Rule of thumb. Don't be dumb like me.
Never put dressing on your salad without
tasting it first, because even when you stress
NO FAT FREE! they still serve it up
in one of those plastic cups that come with
a home delivery order. Listening is truly an art,
and possibly a dying art, as well. Aw, hell,
the salad was Greek so at least the feta cheese
saved it plus the stuffed grape leaves
and artichoke hearts, yum! But boy was I dumb
not to taste the dressing first. Taste buds are screaming
"arghhhhhhh! that's some of that fake sugar junk!"
But it's OK, gonna put on some jazz and funk
and add some cool, natural water to my tongue!

Lemme tell ya,
tonight you are as young
as you will ever be, please believe me
when I tell you that. And bless-ed be the fat
in creamy dressing. Bless-ed be the greens,
bless-ed be the feta cheese, and bless-ed be you
and bless-ed be me! Let's do a belly dance to set
us all free! Just a suggestion.

But I have one question.
Does the jam end TONIGHT at midnight or tomorrow night at midnight?
Enlighten me, please.

(I'll save ya some black olives and feta cheese)

Sounds like you're having fun!
When you're done, can I have some? ;)
*grin*

Hey, I may not be awake at midnight to file this away
so if it goes on until tomorrow, there's not much I can say
but keep GOing for it right here!

This girl needs beauty sleep, Lord knows.
Trying to get gorgeous. Soooo GOes

I bow in your direction . . . oh shit,

and I hope they don't break what's
left of my stereo . . .

Kinda loud ..
