We usher in yet another
turn of earth, turn turn turn
a garden bed with a pitchfork.

came here to jam
but my voice seems not
to have come with me
streams & creeks up here
on the slopes of Tug Hill Plateau
filled with snowmelt and rushing down
to the waters of Lake Ontario
i mark that white snow
turns into dark dark water
on it's way elsewhere

I like my steaks bone-in
and my wine glass filled...
spread poetry on my toast in the morning
let it sing in my head the rest of the day
to the tune of words sweet and fitting

the one that dipped into the mystical stream

searching love's mystery, the rest is all drama

here's lookin' at YOU, kid!
just think of all them things you did.
got up there and grabbed the mike,
mystic shit spilt out and damn if it wasn't like
ya hyptnotized 'em, man, the whole damn lot,
guys and dolls sneakin' out between sets to get a buzz of pot,
and sneakin' back in to add their name to the list,
young girls leanin' over to give ya a kiss onna cheek
just to make sure you got 'em on stage that week,
ya poetree emcee, you, doobiedoobiedoo,
words come spewin' outa your mouth like a star
and I watched it all, drove myself down country roads by car
just so I could see ya, get ahold of the mike and wail in mid
word week, seekin' some fun, ya son-of-a-gun.. here's lookin' at ya, kid!

i thought about rock climbing
in my panties
it must have been a dream for who
in their left mind
would have thought of that?

I thought about a snake dance
with baby rattles
it was sure lovely to see
all wrapped up
in a bare cloth, that was me!

I thought about bungee jumping
the Grand Canyon
me flying with an evel guy on a bike
the conclusion concussion
made me stop thinking about that!

I thought about skinny dippin'
in the Rio Grande
bathing myself with the sand
and after a while
my t'wat got as pink as a sunset

I thought about lassoing the moon
riding a painted pony
i hitched them to a star wagon
and we raced to Pluto
he barked...

I thought about thought
and isn't it funny
how you can think such a thing
and still be...
considered sane? Hah!
