sleep of pleasant
slumbers
cuddled in dreams
west of a world
where only the
white hats have
won or lost
in a space where
confusion reigns.....
there is this place
where a gong sounds
a circus tune filled
with Fellini's clowns
beneath a tigers thunderous
roar, echoing into
darkest night....

All I know is that
Sly and the Family Stone makes one hell of a lot of sense to me this morning.

"Sing a Simple Song!"

That is the FUNK right there, with apologies to James Brown..

Stream-of-consciousness?

naw, lets talk steam, steam-of consciousness,

filling the air with it
breathin' it in, pretty mama, breathin' it in
you go church preacher man say
breathe it all in like John Baptist, like John Apostle,
John o John John Hooker breathin' it in

Chug chug chug chug...
Wooo! Wooo!
I hear that soul train comin'
For the "everyday people"/

We keep cards & letters coming
To the Net to wish everyone
The best year yet! /

Streamin' & steamin' through your minds
Comes sun so bright
Don't matter if 'n' you have window blinds
Brightness comes through the shades!/

Let's all listen to the rose parades! 8) :!:  /

And just as the world is crumbling into
pieces of pain and guilt, filtered by nothing,
fashioned like tumbling dice, dots everywhere,
scary spread of dead crap covering me, blanketed,
a GIFT... a silver Christmas shining bright, a crocodile tears
poetry book and I am saved again! Somebody cares after all.

The people will leave, their smoke surrounding them in wafts,
their opiated bullshit following them like an addiction follows its prey,
yeah, they will always leave but then will come another full of healthy
goals, gifting you with a silver stocking and crocodile tears chapbook.

Poetry heals me. I have been gifted! Thank you!

gift of light each day
stolen as if by night
by rotation
by mighty talking heads
by quadrafeds and octopeds
brightness sold
to a least common denominator
of fears, tears, hatred, jeers
emboldened gold
TV life, theater of strife
and don't forget
to give us all you got
all you made
all you prayed

it sounds bad - i know
sounds down
like a beaten clown of reality
made gray, day by day
but you wait,
i still got your number
yes
and one day
while you sleep i will cut your head off
grind it down to ono goodness
and feed it to the extinct puma of my dreams

was going to take a trip
to the west side today
but i woke up and
the ground was white.
called my brother and
he said,
"stay put, do some writing."

i walked to the park and saw
a little girl making
a snow angel.

awww, i remember!

no thing like a clash of paradigmas
but January always gives me time to consider what´s the line between interbeing & alienation
or to feel everything is more simple than what I thought before
consciousness going along with the termic sensation
& sunlight more powerful than the alarm clock.
This year: a birth yesterday, a death today
& TV´s Dakar & fugitive stories going on an on:
a weird reminder that there is no place for hiding
only the option to have lighter baggage & enough appreciation....

load lightens
with time
possessions
a thing of past
1 room big enough
warm & fed
alone a silly concept
we live
we die
the inbetween
total adventure
in the end
like Larry Darrell
found out on a himalayan
mountaintop....nothing really matters....

ground can't stop...nothing really moves...
bleed laughter like a hyena
like Daryl Hannah
in the wind
total nihilist
no inbetween
we die
die, flying mouse
alone: a silly contraceptive
warm and dead
1 room big enough
a thing to last
possessive
with time
our loads lighten
