My daughter moved to Seattle,
now living with her brother (my son)
who's lived there for many years.
I told her to bring a raincoat but
she didn't listen. She's getting drenched
and loves it, hoop dancing on cliffs
overlooking the ocean.

a jam, does it not? Hey, wanna give it
another shot? Invite your friends or even
your enemies if you want.

My back hurts.
I had the feeling I'd get older and turn into my mother.
But no, I wasn't right. I am often my grandmother
predicting the weather with aches and pains.

Then comes the calm.

Night is blustery, cloudy skies,

We're tired of animosity
Want to show our love
Political season brings out the reason--
May is the month spring shines
Remember these are good times.

Worldly disasters on TV
Fractious politicians squabble
Our country needs compromise
Otherwise we're hobbled.

So I celebrate joy & the lifeblood of spring
Not letting blues overwhelm anything.
I keep smiling through the years...
Less muscles to smile rather than frown,
As we prepare to go shopping in town.
