candle light on her face
no trace of
bones and hooks caught
in my throat
quiet
sculpted her hands and full lips
reach for the guns
a many armed statue embraces her
falling
scratching walls
bleeding
trapped
smaller towns look like friends and strangers

many languages pass thru the tunnels
of these hips
lightening has struck the tops of the mountain
where my twins lie awaiting in bunk beds
filled with redneck stories
and foster care

case workers empty stares
test after test
war with DHS
i watch the man
with a hole in his heart
kindly dismiss what he wanted
for what he knew was right
strecthed out under a blanket
cigarette lunged into his chest
oh how did he get into this mess?

terrible dreams of sawdust and dry throat
cast ths day on a sour note

welts of whips
self inflicted guilt
lay damaged on a strange old qullt
all those relations from generations past
fought to join them
almost as fast

Excellent poem. Raw and visceral. Powerful images.

ooks like i am moving to creative writing
i dont really understand what the thread means i guess, i thought jamming was about freedom, a child of the sixties i guess. happy new year
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

When we have a word jam, we jam in one thread, Jana.

This is the thread we're jamming in.

JAM HERE - Solstice thru New Years Light-the-World Jam

That's why it says "Jam Here" and that's why all the other threads on the forum are locked because they are old jams that we finished.

We do have on-going jams all the time in the GO forum and you can start new threads in there any time you want.

But for the planned jams like this one in the Jam Session forum, we jam in one thread. It's always been that way. In the intro/announcement, it says all other posts will be moved.

Please join in the jam thread here
JAM HERE - Solstice thru New Years Light-the-World Jam

Merry Christmas!
