Save a Poet

Post by Lightning Rod » January 9th, 2009, 1:26 am

Save a Poet

(imagine Sally Struther's voice)

In our own country
thousands of poets are starving
every day
their books don't sell
except to friends and family

You can help to end this literary poverty
(pictures of starving poets with big eyes
swollen bellies with signs around their necks
with heartwarming poetic lines like
'Will Write for Food' etc)
by contributing to the Starving Poet's Fund

for only $19.95 per month
you can provide a poet with the little
necessities of the craft
liquor, cigarettes etc.

Less than a dollar a day
will ensure that these needy poets
can continue with the simile and metaphor
that so enriches our world

in addition you will receive
every month
a poem and a photograph from your poet

Sign up today
YOU can make a difference!

my entry at adopt a poet

Adoptapoet.com
entry K&D

Adorable Nicknames: (kiddo, Aly, PuppyCat)

Vices: loves TLC (tender, loving, care) turning people on because she can, peeing late at night on peoples yards and inducing mothering.

Difficulties: Spelling/grammer and following directions.

Essay Portion
The benefits of adopting me are my (seemingly) harmless vices. I'm a grazer, a good entertainer and for the most part potty trained.
Blah!

good stuff here, LRod, and the Struthers voice makes it all the more meaningful. is she on steroids? got awful big over the years. she was pretty hot in the "Getaway", I would have bought anything from her. Once I get over this oil hump, I promise to purchase your books. could you sign them? just your name, only. I'm a collector.

alyson, I would jump on it
but I adopted you years ago :D

bard, I think she just got fat

about the books, they are sent straight to you from the printer, so I don't get a chance to sign them before you get them. You could mail them to me and I'll sign them or I could just give you my power of attorney....haha.
