to walk through time as grecian rhyme

[sweetwater]

as chance in full dress releases
the day in silent repose and green
in an orchard of apples seen
trees standing tall as open fields
swaying in the wind to yield
in marram grass and desert hills
as gust in rides for seeker's thrill
to wrest the end of life to lease

and start what once was bequeathed
to live again the adolescent withdrawl
from summer end to winter's thaw
and remember it different to awake
as to enjoy the seasons and fruit to take
what lessons are to be learned
in future holding a triumphant yearn
and return again to a summer's beach

as chance in full dress releases
the body from its decor and pride
the beginning of art to take a side
make clear what poems cannot say
about the approaching end of day
and how it all unfolds to create
the art of life and open gates
