waterprints on coral

Post by sweetwater » September 15th, 2009, 4:20 pm

we misplace things and find our way through
using torchlights and guides to map the surroundings
we lay bare the carbon footprint and sand markings
inside a cave and jungle

we find thoughts to be the perfect company
for ardent followers of the round
who by chance ending their sojourn
in the quest of a summer's lair

outside on waves and oceans
our arms are stretched skyward and reaching
using lampshades to cover the blush of eyes
and waterprints of lost places to journey's end

we despair to reach the summit
of our thirst to quench and
we misplace things and find our way
searching

and in the ending sometimes quietly
like a shadow in the evening
we blend truth into disguise
and allow ourselves to fall gently
like an impressionist's waterprint
on coral

Quite a lyrical beauty your inscribed. I love the gentle flow of this. It takes me into a world of haunting beauty and profound contemplation.
