Mere Anarchy

Post by revolutionrabbit » September 27th, 2009, 5:39 am

And to think what Yeats
was wont to think
to decipher the neon
Babylon sign

how much closer
have we slouched
on our potato couch

mere anarchy
and chaos theory widening
was a queer way of putting it
or is it queer, ah, how they loose it
they would abuse it, confuse it
dilute it, refute it

a psychogenic fugue unleashed mankind
through cognitive dissonance between the hawk and the hawker
we are turning in the spiritual gyre before the zeitgeist object
rushing down a great river of drowned innocence, or Hopi
prophecy, they saw revelations in the sign of the hand
the 5th world was upon us the coming of the second blue star
somewhere in a desert of whispering magic sands
the wind of stars blows through the stony deep
we have arrived at the zero point of eternal return
there is no turning back now - on the world spirit threshold
the shadows have spoken their secret inner diamond dust
and the gyre spins ever faster, faster faster
history looks like an whore of blind seers
staggering toward some unknown shore

Yeats, was in that damn room where he screamed at the night
every word that he carved on the darkness was illuminated in
blood letters-dimmed as they burned through the ceiling
his voice rose on a burning bed of rose petals in the gloomy gloom
he shouted each line a thousand times at a blue apple-moony moon
and soon all would be revealed in the antique traveler golden tomb
to be born at last

"through cognitive dissonance between the hawk and the hawker"

incredible line.
and yes Yeat's scream.....

I would indeed buy your book. This poem cinched it.

Looks like the prophets of doom/gloom and ignorant masses are itching to have it their way, self-fulfilling style. What was that line? "The worst are filled with passionate intensity while the best lack all conviction?" Something like that.

I don't get it. What was so funny?

Are you saying that all the other writers here except for you write corny hallmark verse?

Just curious.

Fill me in with the humor. My funny bone is outa wack.

Thanks!

LOL!!!!

Yeah, that's what's going on. Everybody here is a Hallmark poet except you!

Have a nicer nicer, too, Craig! ;)

Keep on rockin' us with your edgy stuff, OK? I dig it! I do! I'm a huge fan!

We'll just keep on writing lame, weak, hallmark crap.

hehe

(I finally figured out what's going on. I must be psychotic!)

The unseen hand that guides the market place has added eighty thousand chemicals to our water supply and foods. Endocrine disrupters. No testing of the interaction between the molecules. The frogs are our canneries in the coalmine. We are at the top of the food chain and that shit flows upstream. Very queer the feminization of male fetuses. Conspiracy theories bah humbug. I have seen the future and it is parthenogenesis. A cure for the disease called man.

It is a brave new world and I for one am looking forward to it. An end to war.

Please pardon the weird ramble
Imitation is the sincerest form of strategy(flattery or freudian slip) I have heard
I could never imitate your style
Just my little homage

Your poem is brilliant but you knew that.
also "what they don't see."
In the case of radically transforming technologies, a better understanding of the transition dynamics from a human to a “posthuman” society is needed.
Existential risks, just some boring stuff you MAY not be interested in. But I think it relates.

the cognitive dissonance between the hawk and the hawker
between the grok and the groker
the mock and the mocker
the rock and the rocker
the hard place and the harder
the fuck and the fucker
the muck and the mucker
the luck and the lucker
the shuck and the shucker
the jive and the jiver
that jazz and the jazzer
the hallucination and the hallucinator
between you and me
and me and you
the poet and the poeter?

fuck the goddamn stammer
good luck to the damn rammed grammar
feel the bitch, scratch the itch, subliminal
is the message perhaps, all the crap given,
all the fat bullshit lived, give and take is the cup,
the suction, the sip, the dip into another person's
soul, the whole precludes the hole, emptiness
doled out by a fear predicate

i wear my heart like a badge.
it is the razzmatazz, the real, nothing
perhaps about it! i wear my heart like a gem,
it is the dem-dat-want-it-gonna-get-it said
to them! I wear my heart like the beat of the
aorta! contortionist lyrics, maybe, bent on going
upside down and over just to make a point!

fuck the anointment of some semi-egotist bull!
fuck the pull of the imagined, the hallucinatory crap!
rap it on, brotha, rap rap rap with a rattatatatatat drum roll,
keepin' a cold soul buried beneath a fucked up rhythm!

hey, babe, i'm insistin' i ain't no poetER! I'm a poet HER!
gimme da jive, sweeeeeetttt...... arrive comPLETE in the
here and now!

fuck the i'm-da-only-one-who-knows-how crap!
rap on THIS, bro, this is my head!
i'm alive, jive, i ain't dead! gimme some applause 'cause
i nevah had dat crap clap comin' from one so smoooooooothhhhh!

hey, my friend,
wanna sing the blues?

Grok this, OK?
maybe just maybe if yer maybe's ain't been delayed,
you might see it my way and we can groove 'til the movement
becomes dawn!

Let's put our poeeetreeeee shoes on! shall we?
Wanna dance?
take a chance?
sure ya do, bluesman! sure ya do!
