I'm being negative again

Post by mnaz » December 26th, 2009, 3:44 am

war is the answer, the only answer.
see you on the battlefield of constriction.
I break bread with you, break you the next day.
there is no other way, no other way.

stupid people live in the South, East, West, North
perpetuate child sacrifice to end child sacrifice
it never ends, you know they fight if necessary
it was always necessary and shall remain so.

I'm writing anti-war quatrains on christmas
and it only gets worse, patton was a psychopath
he had to be! make some other bastard die for country
that's how you win a war goddammit

okay so we worship the shit
we mourn the dead, get back to work
the world could use a few useless warriors
we gotta new useless war to fight

For only the most just of wars

i've heard it said
"war is breaking things and killing people"
but it leaves out
"leaving the loser in submission"

if the enemy is not submissive
the war may subside but never ends
and indeed, wars never end
only the enemy change

aggression/submission
it's a yin/yang thang
the destroy/create
all for the love of living

jeez... found some stuff I'd scribbled recently,
and... put 'em together. the timing of the latest war is horrible, if nothing else, even if it turns out to be one of those "minor" conflicts. ("minor" for whom?) but that probably shows my ongoing naivete, or undue Xmas sentimentality I suppose..

..also read about the "christmas truce" of 1914 last week. disgusting. beyond disgusting.

I was going to delete this one if no one replied. too late.

sometimes I think "war" is a word too legitimate for itself. we throw it around too easily, honor it way too readily.

Okay, done. back to being happy happy consumer guy..

Dos Passos' novel 1919 one the most astute books on WW one I have read.

What is so interesting to me about World War One is trying to figure out who were the good guys.

You would think it would have been Americans French and British against those evil nun raping baby bayoneting Huns.

It was a jolly good war. Certainly a just war.
Or so it seemed to Woodrow Wilson. Does Obama ever remind you of Wilson?

I think your first title was better. But who am i to say.

I hate being negative. They say you got to accentuate mr positive. What we need now is a cheer leader. Just like the good old days. We need some moral clarity, just like the good old days.
You got to fear god. Just like the good old days. Some people never learn though.

please pardon the ramble
and pardon the pardon

Yeah sometimes I reply to your posts because I am afraid you might delete it. I suppose if I was not so vain I would just save it. If I learned anything from litkicks it was save the stuff you like because life on the net is uncertain.
She is twice the man I am.

I sometimes think about casting a movie for the men who lead us into world war one I think I would have Boris Karloff play Woodrow Wilson. Cecil posted an article about Wilson. It was writen by someone in the middle east who seemed to have a fuzzy notion of our history. The article said we have to get back to the America of Woodrow Wilson.

Meanwhile on the western front the generals were faced with tough decisions.

He voted for this Larger Objective, which was Haig's scheme, and he was prepared to lose five hundred thousand men to carry it out.

Losses at 100,000 per month—less than half a million, whom we can make good.

World War One was my father's war, maybe that is why I am obsessed with it.

There is not one bleeding sore on our planet today that can not be traced back to it.

Ben Franklin said, "There was never a good war or a bad peace."
that pretty well sums it up I guess.......as for the Nobel Peace Prize, it has always been a joke, given to guys like the war monger Henry Kissinger who plotted and supported Vietnam, and then later signed a peace treaty...to tell the truth Kissinger is the epitome of a war criminal....Teddy Roosevelt enthusiastically kicked Cuba's ass, but swung a deal between Japan and Russia, and voila....a peace prize

One has to ask themselves why don't they just give peace prizes to people who are at least vocally, against war......I'm mean really...
how does an articulate man like Obama come up with, " just war"
maybe the " just" does not mean fair or isn't a part of justice,
maybe justice to him means "just ice".....or maybe he's trying to tell us to lighten up as in....hey man, it's just war, you know....

the thing that is always pushed under the covers is what Ike correctly identified and coined, The Military Industrial Complex"...
That should always be front and center, but it gets buried in the rhetoric of just wars, and terrorists, the Taliban, blah, blah ,blah

so much money is being made in Iraq and Afghanistan by very powerful influential mysterious characters, that any talk of just wars
makes me sick.....

good poem, you can never overstate this type of madness
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

How about that Nigerian fellow who screwed up his own suicide..? Had he blown up the plane as he scheduled, that incident could have set off WWIII, you figure? Given the sensitivity of the world matters and the unrest in the Mid-East, who knows what might have become of the general pulse of the world if that single 23 yr old man had done his will for Allah... the pulse could have gone hyper... blood pressure exploding into (put in your own scenario)...

But he failed. He is under arrest. He's a loose screw. As one of his friends said: "He's a nice guy, Likes basketball".

Wow. And just imagine it from the other side. Yes, it's nuts. Of course.

I have imagined the other side... many a time. I prefer this side. I find it to be more imaginable. That other side appears to be falling apart, especially Iran this past weekend.
