The Interview
We examined each other inch by inch
You questioned my bruises we scrutinized
we pulled and pinched we made our excuses
We defined our areas of zero tolerance
We traded glasses and you straightened my
collar once, resisted my passes but not too long
Exchanging data till our interfaces were gooey
I asked if your father knew who he was when he
died then it was would you like or would you rather?
We stretched and imagined like our brains would explode
finally admitted we both had a load of baggage and pains
from previous lives some were stains some were dyes
All washed out when i looked into your eyes
and floated above you a disembodied dream impulse
with spasms going through your thighs like lasers through cream

Hi Clay, did you see the movie, "It's Complicated"......it's your poem
Alec Baldwin. Meryl Streep, Steve Martin.......the physical was always a good place to start, but inevitably we have to talk, and in my mind the best relationships for me were, when language failed, sex could fix everything....at least for a few more days....and sometimes that can work for years....yes......the baggage can be heavy sometime,
and as that great sexologist, Mick Jagger said,..... Never be your beast of burden.......great last line !

If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
