crickets bought last night
chewed thru bag & jumped off
chirp under furniture
godless & songless, western man dances with the stuffed gorilla through all the blind alleys of a dead-end world.

You will hear complaints when all those crickets start eating paper, wool and plants. Plus singing.

Am I correct in guessing those crickets were intended for some cricket-eating pet? ♥

usually i dont let many loose at once here at home. i have cats. they'll hunt em. alas, jeff hasnt any cats. he'll have to hunt hisself. or they'll just get away.

i have green tree frogs & firebellied toads. tho i have a suspicion one of my treefrogs is perhaps not the same species as the other. it's quite a lot larger.

much volume from small volume
thunder from the air

Dear Joel,

And hath thee never heard the singing of the toad in spring?

garden at twilight
sweet notes of toad song thrill
rival linnet and lark
