Degradation (Love is NOT a Hallmark card)

Post by Lucy! » February 15th, 2005, 2:02 am

Love is a precious jewel that tends to get stepped on by the insensitive, cracking with each stomp

Why do people degrade it so?

If only people truly valued the other for their essence and not their superficial constraints...

Then Love wouldn't be so commercialized

love is NOT a hallmark card thats slipped with your roses on valentine's day
you're right, it sickens me that people use this as an excuse to be nice and loving- shouldnt you be that way year round? im nice all the time and valentine's day is just another day on my calendar, i dont believe in it (even though i am a romantic but a realist as well)

its all capitalistic propaganda
think people believe in godiva chocolate gift baskets in third world countries?

Then Love wouldn't be so commercialized

that don't bother me as much as the commercialization of sex.

for some reason I am thinking of Marcuse's term de-sublimation, man you guys are living in a Brave New World, I hope you don't sell out I do believe in love, I do believe in true love, I do I do, but sometimes I feel like the cowardly lion

I am in my second childhood, valentines day is a big day for kids, or so it used to be, elementary school mysteries, girls such weird creatures, even there buttons were on the wrong side, and why did they always button their jackets from the top down, and how can they cross their legs like that. I was a curious dumb kid.
but like I was saying before Lucy pg-13 ain't what it used to be

it was a valentine days massacre in Lebanon, oh god not that again, you guys must have been so young every day the killings in Lebanon, hostages, and my favorite headline Christian Gun Men Kill 12

St Valentine a martyr of some kind, so the church fathers were marketing genuises

sorry about the typos going to fix them soon
