Two Views of “Love”

Post by jim turner » November 15th, 2010, 11:23 am

Enormous, a waterfall
plunges
into a little lake,
its cold surface, dark depths,
impassible.

Unconcerned,
a tiny fisherman, asleep
in his little,
motionless boat,
dreams.

Each time his heart beats
the water beneath him
ripples.

Jim 7/10 (“impassible” has been read as a typo. It isn’t.)

Saint Matthew 19:26, alt.

But Jesus beheld them,
and said unto them,
With men, women, this is impassible;
but with God all things are passible.
