Two letters between a Bride and Groom

Post by .Lucy. » November 30th, 2010, 8:45 pm

From Maribel to her Beloved on the Eve of their Wedding

I thought I might give myself to you
but decided
against it.

Perhaps it’s your inability to perceive that
which defines me so
clearly,

Or

Perhaps it’s your ability to trample
my delicate
terrain of the spirit.

And/Or

It’s your singular sense of self
when I thought-
I thought
it was a consolidated Oneness in our We.

Oui.

To Maribel from her Beloved on the Day of their Wedding

This
is not an argument
I care
to indulge in.
This is why:

My flaws are greater than my weaknesses,
And yet.
My greatest weakness
is my inability to see my flaws.

I am broken;
in a way no longer repairable by man.

Your ability to capture
in complex stills the obsequious motion
of my flawed love
for you

Is beyond my scope of comprehension.

Don’t attempt to under-
Stand
my dimpled sense of stability.

This is what I am,
Just me.

An unusual and original approach to defining a relationship. You had to invade the minds (hearts) of two personae. Eureka! jim
