"what my sails were built for" or "what he said; now what?"
part of me needs to savor this introduction being written,
all of me needs.
what else can i do
to keep from falling too hard into you
to keep from wrecking into a heart-on-collision
a hard on sported by passion itself,
slowly sped up, hardly off, like a leaky faucet
that only drips full head on and open
knowing full well that wrenches and utility tolls
may fight to the death to turn off our sound
part of me gives satyrs their life water of lovers' passions,
all of me gives.
what else can i do
to keep all my falling pieces safe
to keep them stored in your lockbox
a nurturing garden of affluent accounts, saving my undoing
from spinning whithered and defeated
i only drip full head on and open
a stream of me, consciously and otherwise
despite of all breaths that caution "slow down!"
part of me takes and tries to keep every bite you've bitten,
all of me is your feast for when you are hungry.
what else can i do
but keep serving dishes of my love
chopped, minced, boiled, chilled, scrambled
covered, topped, raw and pure, and however else you'll fancy
however else you'll let me feed you
part of me takes, jotting down memories with feeble scrawlings,
all of me cooked made to order
but i'd rather just throw it all out there
raw and pure, as nature intended and ascended
part of me takes,
all of me gives
they told her, ma'am, watch out for the storms
you are the captain of your own vessel
but watch out for the worms
watch out for the three-eyed apocalyptic sea nightmares
tentacled and writhing in spoiling even the most precise and potent
of hopes and dreams
they told her, ma'am, watch out, for the likes of me
reverse lighthouse, leading to disasters by cautioning to pay closer attention
watch out for all things that taste like the ocean and wind embracing
in the nose, the tongue, the throat, the heart, the mind
watch out for all things, they say
i told her, ma'am, fly and sail to your greatest content
with or without this foolish young sailor
you are the admiral of all the fleets
in the Ocean of your dreams.
jagged cliffs, no matter what's been shone where, they always are met
with rocky transmissions
something amiss, swirling poisons of Those Things That Seductively Sink
i told her, ma'am, my goddess, i'll throw me into your waves
i do know you will always be where you belong, and so will i
just don't hold it against me if i need to drown in you
i'm no rescue mission
i'm no sea monster, either
i told her, ma'am, if it's alright by you
i've made myself bait for all your fish
but i threw in the lines and poles, too
and stored all the hooks in the pin cushion of my heart
bleeding out to sea
like messages in thumping bottles
i told her, ma'am, you can have all of them
lose them, confuse them, beat them against your eroding walls,
do what thou wilt shall be the whole of my awe
awe for you, awe for your waves, awe for your truth and awe for your faith
i told her, ma'am, please, don't let me get in your way
but they base manipulation off of what i have to give
because all the world's a stage for purity and selflessness
i'm no sea leech, and i'm no sea monster
i told her, ma'am, i just want to lull myself to death
for the rest of my life
cherishing your waves, cherishing your waves.
part of me sails slowly through your gentle waters of trust held most safe,
but all of me sails.
my god, my god! all of me sails
the wind is throwing its hands up in the air
as if to say, what else can i do
but wish the best for you two
this man's sails are attended by flight assistants
much greater than my own
port bow, starboard bow, raise or lower or just signal out into the silent dark warmth
of your resonating waves
just keep my heart in a paper boat propelled past navigation
fueled by need and want to be in your seas
my god, my god. don't ever make me leave
you take me as you want
for all my surface speeds
or you writhe me down comforted into the embrace
of your sweetest deeps
i'll be your shipwreck anyday you fancy
my god, my god. all my maps and wheels are kites in the wind for you
and i'll throw all my calendars out there, too
just let me keep loving you
part of me even tries to slow down my tributaries of "into you"
but none of me can.
my god, my god, my god

A most impressive poem.

( I love this part of your poem very much)

by the way, I see your location is Tokyo. Is English your first language or Japanese? You have a great command of the English language!
Looking forward to reading more.

A new and wonderful voice. I am unsure that any of me has read all of your poem, but you can be sure I will read it again. Jim

Doreen, thank you. To be honest, I am not new here although I am newly registered. My heart is in Japan, but my native tongue is in fact English. Thank you for the welcome and accolades, but thank you for this site before that.
dadio, thank you, your blessing means the world to me.
Jim, none of me has read this poem until now and I hope my lover will read and read this over and over again with me and me alone for my duration, all the best and thanks for the nod, hope you enjoy each and every "read" yourself.
revolutionrabbit, thank you for reading, I'm glad you saw what you saw.
saw, epic is a word shamed in its inability to express my lover and I, but my words are honored to have you attribute epic to them. Thank you very much for your kindness.
et al, thank you for letting me share this. Posting Part II now.
