vulnerable

Post by creativesoul » January 27th, 2011, 4:47 pm

i left myself behind in various locations
had to go and take that back
see all that soul
leaking like water drops on a skin
exasperated by heat
and various dellusions
that told me that it was all going to be ok
i never trust people that say
it is all going to be ok
i guess redefining ok
would work for me

each time i find myself free
got to ask myself
if being vulnerable is all it is cracked up to be
wanna freak out
bite my nails
smoke a cigarette
in honor of the places
i need with me

tried to be
someone that a partner could love
like a hand and a glove

now i am supposed to be
someone i might like to see

loving with a hand of forgiveness
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

yes it is quite true as well- at any rate-the good news is that soul retrieval is possible- and that thing, "the longest distance is from the head to the heart" and the other thing, "have to go backwards to go forwards" is all true= thanks for your good energy! have a write on day!

would that be so shameless
for me to see

like a reflection in the mirror
is it actually there
or do I just chose it to be

just a mask that I dawn
like grass on the lawn

who am i
who will i be

romeo and juliet killed themselves
the death of a love is gut wrenching
all the roles, and laughter, being a part of someones inner soul
even if seemingly for so short of a time
minced with childhood dreams
cocunut creme pie
bananas growing from the trees
tropical breeze
i look back on the sweetest of times
each one of them there, like a very fine wine
the kisses, the vows, the explosions of sweat
each of these men
i do not regret
loving them
me for having done it the way i did
them for loving me
the way they did
skidding down icy roads in the dark
taught me
some valuable seconds
it could be over
what was important again?
the airplane rides
the drinks and laughter
smiles newborn babies
flowers, mountains, sweet grass
cuddling, eating strange foods
happiness
bliss
the stuff that feels so good
it makes you wanna cry

I to look back to cherish the times
the love, the laughter,the passion
from each of these women
i do not regret
when they wanted to fret
for me loving them was a sure bet
if anything they have taught me
patience
credence
prudence
temperance
stop and smell the roses
before the door closes
stop and letting them cry on my shoulder
just gives me more to ponder

2 years later
i can cook a complete meal
carbs, protein and vegetables-

i could not nurture myself
smoothies, vitamins and one type of food
now i give the dog steak
eat teryaki beef and zuccini
listen to sublime
drive around getting my mail
rice
mmmm
there was no flavor
no taste when i left that oregon man
was happy to get rid of that van
boxes of crap
was happy i no longer had to listen to his rap
same ole
remote
tray of food
good night-

yelling at me will not get you anything but a sore throat
lying gets you nothing but your own stinky goat
i can love myself for leaving you

two years later
I can still cook clean and dine
without hearing so much as a whine
and all I got is this damn van
and an old afghan
trying to find a new girl
one that i would treat like a pearl
I hope that doesn't make you hurl
for me to stick to the program
is not guy i am
and let us leave the goat out of it
if for nothing more but a little wit

maybe i should not have told him where that goat was tied
i guess i would have been happier if i lied

Should have lied
the damn goat died
telling me weeks later
is like walking into a gator
you could have left some food
for the poor little dude
that was just crude
now as for me
I gotta a girl i wanna see
so this and that
and tit for tat
i will be back
