It's Not the Man (It's the Hat)

Post by Hollweg » January 28th, 2011, 11:57 pm

"Hey you!
Yeah, you!
You with the nose.
I see you."

There around the campfire
He was holding court.

On his head sat
a most remarkable hat--
which was a red and purple
bird with crazy eyes.

When I thought he wasn't looking,
I slipped away.

The man with the hat
sent his goons to drag me back
to civilization.

"Hey! Hey! Hey!
You know who I'm talking about."

When they brought me
into the firelight,
he pointed at the bird.

"Have you forgotten about
this little guy?"

Like a dreamscape...and I wonder what starts it all...why the fire, why the sliding off.... A fun read with so many possibilities...and I like a good hat, too.

i feel like i was there with you, i always like that-imagery kind of like a movie-- sweet
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
