I want to feel
The sands of Ancient Mesopotamia
Between my toes
While in search of
The un-tangible
Hanging gardens of Babylonia
Listen to the sounds
Of the Sirens’ song
While sailing
Across the lengths of
The Aegean Sea
Feel the sensational warmth
Envelope my body
As the coca
Slides down my throat
In a cabin
The Alps of the Swiss
After carving paths of powder
With these two ski’s
Climb the stone steps
Of the Mayan Ruin’s
Just the hear
The sounds of the “Gods”
Whisper wisdom in my ear
Through the air
Bathe in the sun
At 14,000 feet
Moisten the majestic
Rocky Mountain Path
With beads of sweat
Pushed into the dirt
By the souls of my feet
Dive with my father
Off the coat of
Diamond Bar
Examine underwater beauty
Before visiting his
Island church

Re: I want, I will
I do like this poem and its theme and the classical allusions.

Re: I want, I will
a strong desire to live...to be really alive...comes out strong in this piece !
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
you may end up where you are heading
Re: I want, I will
"coat" or "coast" in the second line above? awesome either way...like a table of contents for an epic novel.Night Writer wrote:Dive with my father

Re: I want, I will
you make me want to be surrounded by the beauty you describe here.
