the draw

Post by creativesoul » March 23rd, 2011, 1:57 pm

cards were never so great
the little street urchin moved pretty good
in a crowd, new orleans, los angeles, new york, milan, lagos,
but that all changed
her finger in a light socket
forever
it would seem the structures
that held them all so tight were about to fail
she had a few places inside that should not be violated
the sickness came back when she got hurt
seemed nothing could stop her when she got like that
in another time
that might have been an asset
today she had to go walk
those spirits liked telling her things
which only made her look crazy
except a few
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

edgy, like much of your work.....I have have often thought of life, as playing the hand you are dealt....each of us has unique experiences that forge our paths....

was particularly struck by the line, "she had a few places inside that should not be violated"

you've packed a lot to consider in so few lines
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

what did the cards say
what did the time say
what did the spirits say
many is a word

cards changing over and over
with every shuffle
each fish scale echoing in the eyes of the fish
swimming sometimes upstream in a clear pool where all the fish come every year
to avoid human contact whose thorats were melting, the spirits told her the next thing was a gas like expolsion
a big i assume gas..
no note was left behind-
when the elephant came
i knew it was india
all i want is lettace
it was burma=close enough
they call me scary now
i even stopped eating cow
ask me now-what you must know
for all of us are forced to grow
touched by the electrical throttle of a drum
heartbeat and earth we sung
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

with a hand like this
I'll need to spin my best bluff
my face is poker steel
my eyes hidden behind shades
with this hand I'll need
an inside draw, perhaps
produce a card from out of
nowhere, hey
what's wrong with a little magic
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

curiouser and curiouser...
curiouser and curiouser...
curiouser and curiouser...
echoes... from within the
rabbit's hole
outside... dragon's breath
obscures the common soul

but there is none common,
not among the elephant clan
a sign within a sign is seen,
as sure as Shiva has a plan

what will free will achieve,
other than such law allows
all must be... all has been,
with, and without, holy cows

mother morns in her time,
men will fall from her grace
now is never a time to fear,
it is something to embrace

the eyes did this strange thing
when the dial increased intensity
she could see again
even what she did not want to feel
came thru a hole where rabbits kick you gently in fear
tears for love had disappeared
now it seems the emerging person is cleared
of any of those things
she did way back when things were more important than people
all the little things added up
to a place of negotation
i want to, but i am terrified
the last one, and i am here crouched in abandoned horror at my desire to smoke
it is as if i am watching myself on tv-channel addicted
what of love? what of the way i used to feel when i believed he loved me
tonight a friend came over and he likes me
but i cannot touch souls right now
when i want to- i cannot
i will get my answer before this curtain call
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

Yep, that's what we all get. The luck of the draw...These things happen.
Good one, Creativesoul. 8)
