Stradler loves the evenings
Loves watching the girls come

Into the bar with the young
Hunks on their arms wondering

Where they go to fuck and if they’re
Any good at it and as he draws on

His cigarette he remembers Anne
The woman old enough to be his

Mother who took him in hand and
Showed him a good time in bed and

How and when and where and he
Never looked back after her never

Forgot her huge buttocks and breasts
And her loving heart and big blue

Eyes and her rib crushing thighs
And he loves the evenings and the

Jukebox jive and the hunks swinging
Their honeys about and he sitting

There watching the girls and supping
His beer and smoking his cigarette

Remembering Anne and her love of
Booze and Mahler and French cigarettes

And she bringing him into her garden of
Eve her pleasure dome and he leaving her

Dark love bites on her shoulder and thighs
All the time gazing into her big blue eyes.

Yes, beat poetry. I remember it. Although I was very young when it was popular and therefore never got to see it performed in the small smokey bars where it was done, we used to emulate it in our small dim basements and thought we were something to behold.

Terry, I haven't been commenting lately, because I seem to be able to say nothing but the same thing each time. Well done. This was worth reading. And all those along the same line. I read them all and appreciate your facility with words. And I envy your ability to just keep producing, day after day.
