simple life

Post by the mingo » May 13th, 2011, 9:29 am

excuse me
while i pupate

it's late, ya know
and, from here,
chances are
i might outlast my teeth
and if i push the wrong button again
these words too may disappear
like an earlier poem i wrote this morning

i disappeared it by accident
questionable sequences got me turned around
a poem for the ages
gone just gone

i had it tight & right too -

shit.

i might have to go back
to writing this stuff on walls & trees
they don't disappear so easily

engaged physically mentally emotionally & spiritually
with the landscape
the simple life

I still write on yellow legal pads, and various other scraps, backs of envelopes...
have not been able to embrace e-writing .....I like scratching things out, and writing sideways.....walls & trees do sound appealing.....especially walls.....I'm a graffiti fan....it's so cross cultural.....I like to photograph graffiti in other countries......you needn't excuse your pupating ....happens to the best of us...ha

shit man I forgot i wanted to spin on your mention of graffiti - love that shit too. i always find some leisure pullin' up some graffiti site and looking lookin'. I spent some time a few years ago by writing and drawing on trees in the woods. man I had a bandolier belt that i wore across my chest that carried japanese calligraphy brushes in several sizes and a small belt pouch that held some small bottles of ink & paint. wore a light camo field jacket over everything and so dispensed with the need to carry a backpack which is obvious as hell. ain't done it in awhile due to lack of time. was on my way with the kayaks once last summer when we had to stop at a train crossing and wait for the train to pass. just about every car had either been tagged profusely or bombed the same and we got a whole art exhibit displayed in front of us for free and all we had to do was sit there 'til it passed. i love this country!

i just knew there was a simple clean explanation for it all! that fuckin' cornfield ought to be full by now, man the whole twilight zone AND rod serling are bedded down in it. i can't even look at a jack-in-the-box these days.
