a poet's life is not in the details
of the poet's life it is in the words
it is in the way the poet says them
the only thing for the poet to write about
is the poet, and if not the poet then who?
or what, otherwise it is in the details
but not the details of the poet's life
yet what else is there to write about
if not the life of the poet
It so happens that
being that words being what they are
we can only use them to tell only what
we are able to see at the moment happening
so everything the poet writes about reflects
what is the moving serpent face of hidden meaning
everything hides when the poet puts pen to paper
or fingers to typewriter
at this juncture the fit hits the fan or the fan hits it
all bets are off and the space is empty or it begins
to fill with words, that carry on a secret existence
once the riddle loses all its rhyme it just plays
perhaps the last line will bring it all down to earth
and the poet will feel the dimension beyond words
a poet's life is not

Re: a poet's life is not
Indeed!
Séance
the poet is the
last missing piece
in his own puzzle,
there are no words
to write conclusions
with, we gather around
a table, read
the wall, having writ.

Thanks for the 'dance'.

Re: a poet's life is not
The message not the messenger is more important, unless the message about the poet in which case they are equally important.
