who says it ain't foreplay ?

Post by saw » August 20th, 2011, 7:31 am

I threw faith and science
into a large wooden mixing bowl
tossed them with the fork in the road

and you said, I have proof of miracles

and I replied isn't a miracle by definition
outside the existing laws required
to prove such a thing

and you changed the subject

asked me if I had ever heard of
the rock band formed by Woody Allen,
The Concluding Unscientific Post Script

and I said I thought that was Kierkegaard

and you said, it's both, don't you see
they are symmetrical, one is an object
the thought conforming with the being
the being in turn conforming with the thought,
existence is a process, never given, never
finished, you must come to this

and I said, but doesn't the notion of identity
then become a chimera of abstraction,
if both thought and being are constantly changing

and you said, who cares!

and I said, you wanna fuck ?
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Yes, after spending years studying existential philosophy, the last sentence was my sentiments exactly. Very very good.

I read this one to my partner. He laughed out loud.

The real stuff. No vagaries. I see you saw and conquered?

Very clever indeed!
A good friend is what you are
and what I aspire to be,
keep my company until
I close my eyes Forever.
