earth eats history

earth eats history
trees grow around it
even through it
moss comes up to the bumpers
mice burrow into the seats
wasps hang houses beneath the hood
lips of rust slide over the steel
to cover what the earth
can't swallow up all at once
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
