trainride

Post by saw » July 10th, 2012, 7:12 pm

miles off in the matrix morning
I heard a freight train howl, and
I thought of ginsberg.
my soul teleported through a sleeve
in the sky to the shaw festival audience
chicago, june '59,
a random obsession came over me
and I wanted his subterranean voice
to penetrate my listless heart,
I wanted to see his laser eyes dilate
through coke bottle glass,
to marvel at the bushy eyebrows
on the move above black rimmed glasses
marching like warring caterpillars

the train whistle wailed like a mother
crying long and mournful for a lost child,
like the eerie howl of los lobos
when the moon is white hot and full
of insanity
I wanted ginsberg to possess me
jerk my tacit strings, make me tap dance
like astaire, glide like kelly, cover my skin
with a coltrane solo so intravenous
my pituitary glands would stir the water
inside my cells with a warlock ladle

i wanted ginsberg to kick my ass
throw me down a flight of stairs, electrify
my ball point fingers as his smith corona
hit the side of my head. I wanted him
to blow marijuana smoke in my face
til all I could see were the seeds of wildfire
I wanted him to introduce me to all of his friends
I wanted........an invitation to the party.
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

i love this- true admiration---
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

wanting - having ...
I've always been told they are two different things but I've never been able to see the difference 8)

good read, saw.
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
