Impromptu Poem At a Moment of Reflection

Post by theirishsea » January 10th, 2013, 12:04 pm

there's a lot here
that meets the eye like a song
that reminds me of other melodies
deep within the ear's memory
I taste this vision
the reds, blues, greens dancing
their touch on my day
and though I talk about them all
so abstractly
as is my custom
I gnaw on their meaning to me

yes, this poem is just a bone
tossed to you
and I don't doubt that you let it drop
let it do its little thump
on your eyes, ears
but it is my bone
of contention
I don't expect you to do anything
but say
this guy's poetry is bone bare

I ate all the meat
The Irish Sea Is Always In Turmoil, Even When Calm.
