gun control

Post by mnaz » January 4th, 2013, 3:32 pm

no lily-livered liberal
will liberate me from my guns
my god-given semiautomatic birthright
my ar15, my ak, the whole damn alphabet

we'll get the band back together
if that commie government gets any ideas
with their tanks, jets and drones
we'll show the bastards

where there were once
a place where i was sure that all i had to do
was 'give peace a chance'
these days
it is about 'giving peace back his pants'
or i will take your shit
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

I guess one has to be an American to understand the feelings beneath this poem, but i like it anyway for its powerfulness.

thanks terry, creativesoul . . .

i just scratch my head at the "logic" ...

"an armed citizenry helps insure freedom-- in case the government (with its tanks and mighty military arsenal, not to mention surveillance capabilities, extensive files on everyone and security agency goon squads) gets any ideas."

therefore, all firearms should be available to everyone at all times, with absolutely no restrictions whatsoever.

makes sense, right?

damned n.r.a.

yeah!

as if the oh-so-sacred "right to keep and bear arms" means that any freak is entitled walk into a store and purchase a near-combat-grade killing machine, no questions asked whatsoever. wrong . . . . just wrong.
