michele

Post by the mingo » November 11th, 2013, 10:15 pm

her lips were thin
her eyes blue
her skin without blemish
her hair black - soft - & long
her sudden death
caught everyone by surprise
: a flock of birds
flushed from cover
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

flock of birds-nice
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

this poem cried for economy...and you delivered it......saw myself in a field with starlings filling the sky
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Thx Jana - 8)

Thx to you also, saw 8)

Thx, Cecil - she had just turned 16 - right along with most of the rest of us that summer - she was the victim of an accidental .22 gunshot to the brain - I visit her grave on my bike rounds back & forth across this burg - and when I don't make that climb up over to the backside of the ridge to the place her bones rest I ring my bike bell as I pass below to let her know that I remember I remember I remember - she would talk to me Cecil, as if I weren't the kid with the funny last name & the bubble eyes - the target of jokes & worse - she took heat for it I know from those who hung around her but she never let that matter - I have not forgotten that or her - I never will -

reminds me of a few frenz that have crossed over- i dont have a bike bell to ring- but sometimes the smell of them- or the sweetness of a moment- or something that somebody says- reminds me of them- i picture what they might be doing on the 'other side' i asked my granny what she was going to do when she crossed over- that she had four husbands as well- and she said 'well dance- play some cards' i think she ended up with my grandfather- but had a good time playing cards- that man could dance- and every woman wants a man that can dance-
the laughter and the pride i hear from my grnadfather is quite one of the sweetest sounds i have heard- my cousin and one of his twin sons- my uncle- - yes- they think it is pretty cool-
i dont know - where love comes from- but i know it is all around me and inside me
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

with memories as strong as these, she will forever remember you as you will remember her. your expressiveness is meaningful and heartfelt and i thank you for sharing, amigo.
