The evenings I spent in those Ocean View bars
Making different scenes under another assumed name
Ambling by junkie hookers turning tricks in parked cars
All along the strip they bait drunken and desperate game
Assorted shapes and sizes, but their eyes looked the same
Less costly than the lounge lizards and motel room stars
Ocean View, I frequented that seedy place
Smelling booze, cigarettes and sex upon opening the door
My eyes searching this bawdy den for a pretty painted face
Seeing another sailor's lonely lady, turned barroom whore
Dressed to advertise, sitting at a table by the dance floor
In the dim light through cigarette smoke, a glimpse of lace
Nightlife at Ocean View, intent and luck
Already having shared her company not a month ago
Liquor, drugs, emotion and power of the almighty buck
No guilty thoughts about hitting another personal low
Leaving the Drifters Lounge with someone I hardly know
Bound for my beach side motel room and Friday night fuck
Another Ocean View night blossoming flower
Accommodations,top shelf rum,vodka,whisky and grass
Frolic all weekend for a reasonable rate, not by the hour
A dinner, two breakfasts, and a stiff one for this cute lass
Black stockings, high heels and that thong riding up her ass
These weekend relationships, rarely do they ever sour
Thirty years and seventy miles from Ocean View
The wild wenching, binge drinking and heroin highs
A normal young adulthood, wads of cash and cum I blew
Barely able to look any good woman deep in her eyes
As a young man it was the whores who gave me a rise
Picnics and parties with a sweetheart would never do
Oh yeah, back to that Ocean View motel room
Nearly naked across a king size bed, I watched her crawl
The pungent scent of fine reefer and her cloying perfume
A rather lively scene beneath a still life painting on the wall
Not wanting for much of anything, seemingly having it all
As if on a honeymoon without having to be the groom
Listening to Ocean View motel room pillow talk
Slurring, she drunkenly divulged her desire to get away
Swiftly offering a delusional option which made me balk
Second weekend together, it has not even been one full day
My fair weather reveling companion, that is as long as I pay
The thought of another option, telling her to take a walk
My visits to Ocean View did not involve romance
Just weekends of debauchery and all a whore could include
Whatever anonymity, imagination, booze and dope enhanced
Without such drunken drivel I do not need to spoil the mood
Having already made clear my intentions as nothing but lewd
Unwilling to be a loser in someone else's game of chance
Just another opportunistic Ocean View whore
Fishing for a new sucker while her old one was out to sea
Not a woman I would ever want to see opening my front door
No spending nights at home alone wondering where she could be
Such a proposition seemed uncomfortably unprofessional to me
Thoughts of using it to my advantage thus allowing a bit more
This Ocean View weekend she would remain
With me until Sunday's eleven o'clock checkout time
To get even more out of this trick, some romance I would feign
While finding her selling point bit of theatrics as rather sublime
Erotically entertaining, lasciviously inspiring and worthy of rhyme
Of course for me such weekends there were rarely ever inane
Paid up for two nights in an Ocean View motel
Well provisioned enough to indulge in the fullest measure
Around her neck, a black silken ribbon and little silver bell
Dancing to the radio, jiggling and jingling for my pleasure
Come this Monday a memory that only I would treasure
Having received much more than what was on sale
