the dig

Post by revolutionR » July 16th, 2014, 2:04 am

my syntax in not sin tax
I don't remember playing jacks
I remember reading jack
but it was in between Burroughs
and and all them other hep cats
Jack was best at teaching about how to dig
it, all that talk that tells it like it is
was teaching us how to think, dig?
dig is not an obsolete word
it is a word that remains just as full of nuanced
meaning, as any three letter word
the poem is a place to fully appreciate that
the poet is the one who shows all the deeper
to find it, that's the way the gyp jive goes
the way the language unfolds, and turns
into a city of
meaning, just so you have to dig deeper
sometimes truth is to much to hold on to
