in the beginning

Post by mnaz » August 8th, 2014, 5:01 am

in the beginning was rock,
and vibrations of rock, bedrock mumbling,
the woofer grumbling, rolling bass rumbling,
skull-pounding dread.

and the word was dub,
the massive, slowed an octave low.
verily, psalms of the heavy rain down.
reverb careens from valleys of the shadow of
holy reformations on the face of the deep.
the rootsman on a big beat earth.

he met a parallel lover.
she didn't matter; she was anti-matter.
took her hand and space inverted with a pop,
and heavens blew out at terrible speeds.
cosmic debris and deities hurtled.

in the beginning, no beginning,
a time riddle middle of eternitude
in the shade of a garden unknown.
no time elapsed until the big bang apple,
then hands began to turn, winds hissed.
rock began to grind and magma rise.
planets began to weather and spin
galaxies on heads of flickering pins.

he rattled in star-raked terrain
on reverberations of flung orbits
ricocheted off slopes, rippled on rock
bathed in subdued echo blown open,
emptied in unpaintable twilight.
dubrock laid bare, transfigured,
where nubs of moon rock poke
gentle, deadly desert curves.

from a crest the arc drops away.
delicate forms blend into the far side.
you want the dream, so descend the arc.
but faint forms lose their dream state,
and rising up the far side you look back
to the same dream you came from.

in the beginning was bang,
and we were at the center of things,
the center of careening axes as it were.
out in wispy nebulae where prophets flail,
the enormity of invisible force, the source,
where angels, devils and immortal temples
erode in tricks of rain.

yeah, it's still jam-packed, but not as much as before ...

probably time to quit endlessly tinkering with these vibes ...

thanks.

listening to what the rocks are saying take too long...

wow! this is rich...i really enjoyed this, so many great lines but my favorite was

"in the beginning, no beginning,
a time riddle middle of eternitude"

i dig the word play but also the concept of "no beginning."

thank you for sharing this, mnaz.

keep writing hard!

in the beginning was no beginning.

but there had to be, right?

gawd, just try to explain a basic thing like origin, if you need a humbling experience . . .
