mingo's ghost shirt song

Post by the mingo » August 19th, 2014, 1:26 pm

today i wear my ghost shirt
for all the dead
and the days gone by

today i wear my ghost shirt
for all the unborn
and the days to come

today i ride my bike
in the bright sunlight
and wear my ghost shirt
for all the living

no magic can touch me today
or halt my way
no superstition can cloud my eyes
pretending to truth
no evil can harm me
or come from me to harm others
because today
today i wear my ghost shirt
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

The living and the dead come to rest
in the dead and the living in the titanic struggle
to juggle the existential vacuum like a beach ball
made of quantum mirrors that not only reflect backwards
that have passed through the halls of red dots on black walls
that we come to stand in front of and worship our ignorance
in the face of all that exists outside our field of comprehension
whose dimension descends the steps of the temple, still being
swept by the tears of the outcasts, who on occasion are
secretly allowed to enter the inner sanctum of total bliss

damn man...this is cool, i especially enjoyed this line

"no superstition can cloud my eyes
pretending to truth"

got me rethinking the madness involved with the church in just two lines. ghost shirt, yep!
