love shack

Post by saw » September 6th, 2014, 7:43 am

where can we meet ?
maybe halfway would be a start
somewhere between the eastern shore
and the western skyline

but oh, the suitcases full of shit
the trunks stuffed with old lovers,
to some degree the older I get
the more I seem to have abandoned compromise

in that particular area, and I'd like to think that's because
I'm a more sophisticated chap, but it's more likely
that I'm a more cynical asshole, but what's wrong with balance
I ask myself, don't we all love a good yin-yang story

we all know about that rundown roadside tavern
out there on highway 13, "The Middle of the Road"
if you get by the leather clad biker chicks
with their Harley Davidson's lined up out front

and their intense itchin' for a rumble with anyone that smiles
we should be able to overcome our fears I think.....
unless of course it's rush hour traffic,
and we really need to get to the other side of the road
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Meeting halfway is always a good idea. But halfway across a 3000 mile nation just to have sex? That's just nuts. There's probably a dude on craigslist who has "trunks stuffed with old lovers" and more buried in his backyard. Haha!

I don't believe in participating in rush hour traffic. I like to move faster than that.

Middle of the road? That's where the solid Do Not Pass Line and the intermittent Pass Line both reside. Gotta keep your eyes out for these.

I've abandoned compromise myself. I like commas *inside* the line, not just at the end of the line, for instance, if indeed they belong there.

Where do we belong? THAT is the most important question.

People need to be where they belong and it's often difficult for people to figure out where they belong without traveling somewhere different than where they are.

Love shacks can be fun for some, I guess, but seems like a rather empty sort of deal. *shrug*

I'm an old fashioned modern girl. Remind me to define that one day.

Hey, Steve.. Nice poem. It tripped off an electrical current of ideas running through my hard-working brain. One idea after another. Can't seem to stop them. That's what effective poems do. Well done.

mmmm rumble with a smile= all lined up
bikes
in the hot sun
the tavern
sounds like trouble
nice write my frenz
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
