met a waiter once
from my hometown
who went to a party
Debbie Harry attended
Man, I would have loved
to have met Debbie Harry
oh, you almost goddess
of the punk universe
o heart of glass
how your image mirrors
itself in my funhouse
imagination
but
little thin Blondie
you know
if you knew
and I know
yeah, I do know
it wouldn't have worked
too uncool I
too much the fool
over a pretty gal
and you were really only
an image
to me
but to you
you were 3 meals a day
and a studio
and some guy in the band
deathly ill
who turned on you
like the graduated doc
on the self-sacrificing wife
who helped put the bastard
through dental school
the saints come crying home
all that love used up by a sponge
then wrung
down the drain
almost makes you want
to blow your brains out
but that's insane
and though you were there
almost
still almost
is not surrender
tender little Debby Harry
I would have loved to kiss your inkling of a grin
and hold those slender shoulders
bunch them up
smell the perfume of you
hot shower of desire
wondrous skinny butt of a woman
and gawd, I love
French Kissing in the USA
and "Radiate" , baby
I still melt like ice cream
when I see pictures of you
but there is a difference
between being a real man
and/or a fan
life is a train station
we were and are riding
parallel lines
I see you look out the window
somewhere in thought
I think I still love you
you dream of ideal beauty
maybe a little more meat on the bones
but I'd lend you ten pounds
sassy classy one

Sunday Girl
The Irish Sea Is Always In Turmoil, Even When Calm.
Re: Sunday Girl
Man I don't know what it is but this place has sure been not only moist to the touch lately and populated by gangs of on-the-loose stiffies all over - all the work showing up in the forums is like everybody got hit at once by going to ground for the winter with cozy-cozy thoughts in their heads - every new piece I read I get the image of Tattoo in my mind's eye pointing to the sky and going "Boss! The Plane! The Plane! Thx irish - enjoyed reading
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
Re: Sunday Girl
Parallel Lines a classic and still worth a listen. Beautiful stuff. Thanks for listen here.

jumping into this poem
every twist a smile

Re: Sunday Girl
those pouty lips are on my mind.....nice one
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....
Re: Sunday Girl
the poem captures that turn-on from afar we all experience at least once in our life, where the fantasy is always better than the the remote chance of possibility...D H was almost too beautiful to concentrate on her music...which was very good....but one has to wonder how many guys went to shows just to watch her gyrate on stage for a couple of hours....
liked the way you wove the song titles into the piece

Re: Sunday Girl
I went to see Blondie the group once in 76' but I got so drunk
I don't really remember the show, I remember I kept
yelling "Blondie, Blondie" it was the first time i ever drank Mezcal
and I chugged a haft pint before paying for my ticket while
standing in line. That was a very weird night. I think I was
oddly effected by just thinking about Debbie Harry. She had
this magic about her, like I was under her spell. but after that night
I never got so drunk to see a concert again. I was just a very odd night.
