around the block

Post by whoaisme » December 1st, 2014, 7:19 pm

around the block

i don't have the courage
to go anywhere
but here,

timidly i walk
the sidewalk around
the block, avoiding
any semblance of
human contact, yet
the trees show
me affection, the ivy
whispers smiles
into my ears,
a stray cat looks at me
from across the street
and says good morning.

an old, ragged man passes
me, talking to himself
making no eye contact,
as i wonder if that
was me
looking for myself
talking to myself

i don't say much
"From the sudden invasion of a mind not my own in the world. This I will record. For whom? For m y s e l f, beyond denial and beyond indifference." - Philip Lamantia

Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

beautiful simplicity is all you need if you do it right....well done
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
